Grammy-nominated guitarist and New England Music Hall of Famer Jon Butcher created a signature sound unlike anyone else. His powerful soul-infused vocals and his guitar work reflect a skillful mix of Rock and R&B, Funk and Soul, Jazz and Americana, all of it focused through a prism built from the Blues. Jon’s powerhouse live performances with bandmates Chris Martin ( bass), Marty Richards (drums) are electrifying and not surprisingly playing to packed venues everywhere!
NUTHIN' but SOUL
"Last Summer I recorded a lot of music for a new album but didn't like where it was going. I scraped the whole thing and started over, threw some shapes and BOOM - Nuthin' but SOUL! " Nuthin but SOUL is classic R&B inflected Roots Rock, at once fresh and familiar. It's also Jon's best songwriting to date. "I love the blues- Otis Rush, Freddie King and the soul of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. But the 70s era, Hendrix, Sly Stone and that whole thing was pivotal for me. That music represented a chaotic time in America. It also produced some of the most memorable music the world had seen. That for me was the eternal groove. Nuthin but SOUL rides that groove.”
This is Jon Butcher's signature album, rich in cinematic stories and intense in groove, guitar and raw performances by Jon and his cast of players.

Anyone even remotely familiar with me since Life Takes a Life knows there's always been a social reflection in my music. I still believe in our ability to come back stronger, to reject fear and hatred in favor of hope. We all want to reclaim hope and the possibility of a better tomorrow."
